Dreamland Tears for Dreamland Fears

Today I woke up. I went to the fridge, but it was empty. I checked the drawer with the sweets, but there were none,... okay... I jumped to the bowl with the fruits only to stop mid-air with open mouth and popped out eyes. I looked for some frozen-ready-to-be-heated food, but gave up. In the whole house there was not even a single piece of food!
"Okay", I thought streching the "ay" in an annoyed way. I grabed some trousers, socks a pullover, slipped into my shoes and crossed the street to reach the bakery, "cling-clang" and I went in. There were about three people all covered with heavy clothing because it was freezing cold. The woman first in the line said that she wanted bread and rolls, but the reply was that they had nothing. The woman left the store crying. I wondered and shivered: "Get on!" I thought. Same game with the next one. Obviously the bakery was sold out already. How can anyone eat that much? Seriously! So... "okay" stretching it even more, I went to the supermarket which was "CLOSED". What??? It's Monday, I am hungry and there is no place to eat. I am jumping into my car heading for McD. It's crowded with cars and people, it looks like an organized chaos. I began to realize that I am hungry, my flat is cold there is no food and no way that I could get some. I began to realize that I might end up hungry all day and soon I felt the first signs of a certain fear which I would have never thought it really exists. Then I woke up.

Of course the above is totally fictional for me. I live in a world where there is so much food, I'd never have to starve. In my world there exist other fears.

For example I suffer from Arachnophobia. I am very afraid of vaccinations and am always close to faint. Last time I was having a vaccination, all those mothers brought their babies as well and they cried loud and painfully. Guess how I felt!

Anyway Project Dreamland Inc., has made first progress on a Negative Fear Suppression Device, we'd continue putting money into this hole and making false promises. Fear will soon be the #1 illness that this world suffers from and we sure want to dig a mine into that. Fear not, we are teh fear killers (it works faster if you believe in it)!

Dreamland song analyst

Whoever hastried himself onwriting asong? Inever imaginedhow todo this, but Ihave gottencurious lately. Whatis itthat wecould writeabout ina song? Aboutlove? Abouthappiness? Afunny storyperhaps, somethingthat hashappened tous already.
Solet' sstart byanalizing somesong. Let's takeLimp BizkitBehind BlueEyes:

It starts with a nice guitar rythm when the vocal finally tells us:
"No one knows what it's like / to be the bad man / to be the sad man / behind blue eyes"

From this first line we can already see that the author is grossly exaggerating or unbelievable lonely and because we do want to listen further and becaue of the nice guitar rythm let's assume he is incredibly lonely, knows no one else and thus is permitted to make such statements. His blue eyes - if they can be called his - also seem to suggest that he is innocent and new. On it goes:
"No one knows what it's like / to be hated / to be fated / to telling only lies"

Nothing really knew. The author still assumes he is the only person in the world, hatred is obviously only known to him (or not even that). Somebody is probably also telling lies... Who could that be?
We could start a vague interpretation now, about him being in the place of an unwanted baby. The first line already mentioned that he is the bad and the sad guy, yet innocent, if we interpret the blue eyes that way. Probably indoctrinated by an outside world sworn against him. Let's see how it goes on:

"But my dreams they aren't as empty / as my conscience seems to be / I have hours / only lonely / my love is vengeance / that's never free"

Interesting! He has dreams that seem to be more than his own ethnic and moral principles dictate him. Moral principles that we can assume were forced upon him. It seems he wants to be someone else. He has much time, but is lonely and loving is a big problem for him. Another sign that he might have been turned down in his early years. Next line:

"No one knows what its like / to feel these feelings / like i do / and i blame you!

The problem with his love seems to be quite troublesome. He is grieving and anger is deep inside him. A figure is somewhere out there, that is the cause of his situation. With "these feelings" he most probably refers to being hated, feeling sad and bad from above. He talks himself into a situation where he is forced to have some kind of tunnel vision and project his failure on "you".

"No one bites back as hard / on their anger / none of my pain and woe can show through"
As we have pictured in the last line already, he is giving more and more into his situation, neglecting and ignoring possible help and other solutions. The mad baby is born! Slowly we get a feeling why the world calls him bad and hates him.

The rest of the song takes on a similar style. He calls out that there cannot be anybody who'd understand him, because obviously he was innocent with his blue eyes and the world was so mad about him. We don't know if he was really the innocent baby that he claims to be and can only guess. So you'd either believe him and be mad as well, but beware even if you try, he'll give you a hard time understanding him, or you don't believe him and play into the bad world and strength his feelings. What would a Jedi do?

Dreamland underground

The point in history has arrived where Project Dreamland Inc. has faced and faces numerous threats. There were many discussions on what to do. We had 3 round tables with the leading figures of all departments. One even included dressing up like Knights and replaying the tale of King Arthur - no we didn't find the holy grail. There were about 20 meetings among key account assistant managers and a rough hundred sit ins with the engineers from the supercomputer department where we taught them to cook. They even did their job pretty well. Anyway:
"Plentiful are the risks that threaten our technology dependent institutions."
There is a.) the whole scientific community that wants document after document and project after project, b.) the mathematical department with its regular exercises and c.) the precious spare time that is being wasted with computer games. Not to forget d.), e.) and f.) to spend time with friends, hang out or love your loved one (if you have a loved one to love). And if you are somewhat hooked to the internet as I am then there are also g.) forums to visit, read and post.
This all led to an unsatisfying situation where a.) was neglected and c.) enforced, next to g.) but not d.), e.) or f.).
It would not be much of a hassle to find c.), r.), e.), a.), t.), i.), v.), i.), t.), y.) has been completely vanished and the resulting state k.) is not a desirable one. Therefore action l.) has been introduced and will hopefully bring m.), o.), t.), i.), v.), a.), t.), i.), o.), n.) back.

Next summer Project Dreamland Inc. is probably moving to Spain. Let's hope that the necessary documents will be permitted.
